What it tells you
Person-specification mode reads the advert against your CV and answers the criteria in the employer's own order and numbering, the way a shortlister scores them. Every criterion gets one of three verdicts:
Each verdict comes with the supporting line from your CV, matching phrase marked — or a plain statement that nothing maps to it. A criterion counts as evidenced only if the quoted line appears literally in your CV; otherwise it is forced to not evidenced, so a gap is never papered over. It only ever shows a criterion number that is printed in the advert itself.
Why a CV checker built for adverts isn't enough
A person specification is not a job advert. It is a numbered checklist — 12, 20, sometimes 50 essential and desirable criteria — and the shortlister marks your statement against each one. It won't invent things to fill a gap
Employers, dates and numbers in your own text are read-only. Where you genuinely lack evidence for a criterion, the report says so plainly rather than inventing something you would have to defend at interview. You leave knowing exactly what you still need to supply — which is what a shortlister is checking for.
