What it tells you

Echoing the advert's own language is one thing a shortlister and screening software can both check for, so it is worth knowing where your CV does and doesn't. CV Aligner reads the posting against your CV and gives every requirement one of three verdicts:

Already clear Present but buried Not evidenced

Each verdict comes with the supporting line from your CV, with the matching phrase marked — or a plain statement that nothing maps to it. A verdict only counts as evidenced if the quoted line appears literally in your CV; otherwise it is forced to not evidenced. There is also an exact-phrase count: how many of the advert's own phrases appear literally on your CV. That is one signal among several, not an employer's ATS score, and the page says so.

If too little is evidenced, the report says the advert may not be worth your hour. No tool can promise a pass, and you should distrust any that does.

How it works

  1. Import — paste the job description and load your CV.
  2. Analyse — read the verdict for every requirement, with its source line, plus one source-traced improvement. Free, no signup.
  3. Tailor — optional, one-off payment: reframe your experience, every suggestion traced to a real line of your CV.

It won't invent things to make you look better

Employers and dates are read-only, and no suggestion may alter a number in your own text. The tool only reframes experience you already have, and every suggestion shows the exact CV span it's drawn from. Honest tailoring you can defend in the interview — not impressive fiction you can't.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ATS resume checker?

It compares your CV against a specific job description and reports how well it matches. This one marks every requirement already clear, present but buried, or not evidenced, and shows the line of your CV behind each verdict. It also counts which of the advert's own phrases appear literally on your CV. It does not read any employer's applicant tracking system, so it cannot report an ATS's own score.

Is it free?

Yes. Every requirement's verdict with its source line, the exact-phrase signal, and one source-traced improvement are free, with no signup. A one-off payment unlocks the full tailoring pack: every rewrite source traced, interview preparation, cover letter, LinkedIn copy and DOCX, PDF, HTML and JSON exports. Nothing renews and no card is stored.

Does it invent experience to make my CV look better?

No. A requirement is marked as evidenced only if the quoted line appears literally in your CV. Employers and dates are read-only, no suggestion may change a number in your own text, and every suggestion shows the exact CV line it's based on.

What happens to my CV?

Your CV and the job description go to our server and an AI model to build the report, then are deleted from our servers within 24 hours. Paying does not extend that. There is no account and nothing to cancel.

Do I need to sign up or log in?

No. There is no login, no account and no card required for the free report. Paste the job description, load your CV, and read the result. If you later choose the full tailoring pack it is a one-off payment — still no account, and nothing that renews.
